Sustainability Report 2023

„Walking the talk is key and our commitment to allocate 25 % of our profits to sustainability initiatives in our group is a clear statement to this!”

Dr. Martin Harren, Group CEO

The bridge to
what’s next.

Shipping is a necessity to keep the world operational. But global shipping holds other significant responsibilities next to ensuring a steady flow of trade between nations. Despite sea transport remaining the most environmentally efficient mode of transportation, we must recognize the critical role we hold and work towards a much more sustainable operation. Caring about the future of our planet is a crucial topic that we need to address today, to ensure a livable future for tomorrow. Our actions today set the bridge to what’s next.

We are a shipping & logistics conglomerate – but we are a family business too. Our more than 2400 dedicated people work relentlessly to bridge land via sea, working groundbreaking projects and carrying cargoes across oceans. Whether it is our efforts to reduce our environmental footprint, our social efforts or our corporate governance, our people remain our measure of our success – their creativity, their drive and engagement fuels our sustainability efforts just as it fuels and build our business as such.

Our sustainability ambition is profound, is a testament to our long-term dedication and a visible step on our journey to what’s next!
